Plenty to be THANKful For - My Hometown

Manic Mother

Today's link up involves describing your hometown.  I am from the tiny, tiny town of Strawberry Plains, TN (otherwise known as the best place to stop for cheap gas on your way to the Smokey Mountains)!
I'm not going to lie...there isn't a single part of me that wishes I lived there now...however, it was a nice, safe place to grow up.  It had a small town feel where everyone knew who you were, but it was also only 20 minutes away from Knoxville, so there was plenty of stuff to do.

My parents still live there and probably always will...I love their house...it isn't the biggest house in the world, but it's so quait and it sits wayyyyyy back off the road, so they have tons of privacy...also, it has the perfect front porch for taking pictures...trust me...there were PLENTY of prom/Easter/Special Occasion pictures taken on that porch...in fact, here's one example from this past Easter:
That's really all there is to say about Strawberry Plains.  It's a very nice place, and I am thankful for being from there!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Yea!  It's Wednesday!  And an extra special one for me...why you ask?  Well, that's because this week I am loving:

1.  That before this day is over, I will be back in the great state of Tennessee relaxing with my beau and Zoey...my 2 favorite creatures!  This training has been a piece of work, and I am soooooo ready to be back home!

2.  That Patrick and I have finally made some progress with the wedding planning!  We have photographers!!!!!  Woohoo!  The great duo from Streetlight Republic will be taking our pics for the big day!  I can't wait to see what excellent pics they create!

3.  My sweet, sweet Mama!  Not only did she drive all the way to Nashville this weekend to spend some QT with me, but she also cleaned my house when I was sleeping in on Saturday...yes, I felt wayyyyy guilty...but she really is THAT sweet!  Thanks Mom!

4.  Chicago Style Pizza!  Last night, I got to take a field trip from the BOOOOOORRRRRING training I am at this week and we all headed over to Giordanos for some yummy pizza!  It was great getting out of the "compound" for a few hours!
5.  The Viva la Diva 10 Mile Race this weekend!  God willing, I will be running in this race...hopefully, there's nice weather and it's a great experience.

What are you loving on this wonderful Wednesday?

Plenty to be THANKful For - YouTube and Other Internet Fun!

Manic Mother

Can you believe I am actually posting Day 2 of this Blog Challenge on Day 2?  I'm on a role, I tell ya!  Today I am thankful for all of my "internet" guilty pleasures!

1.  Facebook, of course!  I am sometimes amazed at how addicted I have become to this website...I'm also amazed when I meet someone who ISN'T on Facebook...I always wonder "How do you know what's going on in the world?"
2.  Blogger!  I am so thankful for my blog and what I have accomplished with it!  I am so happy to discovered Blogger.
3.  iGoogle -- This is the most ingenious website for people who sit at a computer all day!  You can check the weather, your e-mail, the news, your blogs, and twitter all from the same website.  It's amazing!
4.  Google Reader!  This is another website that I absolutely love!  If you love blogs and you don't use this, then you need to check it out NOW!  It allows me to read all of my blogs in one place, which I LOVE!
What are you thankful for on the internet?

Weekend Updates!

Yes, once again, I am doing 2 weekend updates in one...I guess you just get more for your money...wait a minute...this blog is free...anyway, whatever.

Last Friday started the weekend off with a trip to see Wicked with several of my work girlfriends! We grabbed dinner at Sambuca beforehand and then headed over to see the show.
All the girls at TPAC!
It was a great show...not quite as good as I expected, but definitely worth the money!

Saturday morning was pretty low-key.  The most exciting aspect was when I made my first ever fried egg with a PERFECT yoke!
Look at that...doesn't it look amazing?  It tasted good, too!
After relaxing most of the day, it was time to head to the Nashville Junior Chamber's Cigars Under the Stars.  We put on this event every year, and it's always a great time!  I'm not a Cigar person, but it was still great to pretend for an evening.  =)
Some of the pretty table decorations!

The "stars" made the room so pretty!

Me with one of my favorite NJC members, Laura!

Then me with my favorite guy!

Everyone showing off the reason we were there!
On Sunday, Patrick and I had planned on just relaxing all day...instead, Chase ended up asking us to come to the Titans game with him, so I hurried to run my 7 miles, and we headed down to LP Field!  The game was really fun, but unfortunately, the guys didn't come away with a win.  =(

This past weekend was sooooo much fun!  My sweet, sweet mama came to town and we went to do what she and I have been looking forward to since the day after Patrick proposed...wedding dress shopping!  We spent the entire day on Friday hitting up every dress shop we could think of!  I still haven't decided on THE ONE, but we have narrowed it down to 2-3 dresses.  I'm planning on heading back to try all the dresses on by myself in the coming days and will make my final decision before the end of November.
No, of course, I'm not showing the pic of the "contenders" (I mean, my beau DOES occasionally read this blog), but here is a pic of my mom and I with Olia (one of the store owners we met with...and LOVED)!
On Saturday, we were about burnt out with wedding dress shopping and both needed a break...SOOOOO, we decided to go regular clothes shopping instead...I know, I know...it's a problem we have.

After spending a wonderful weekend with one of my favorite people, it was time for my mama to head back home...that evening I got a few other things done, then I headed to dinner with my OTHER favorite person, my beau!  He and I both decided that a quiet night in was exactly what we needed, and it was so nice to relax with him and Zoey on a Saturday night.

Sunday came with another round of busy-ness as Patrick and I headed out to take one last look at all of the "contenders" of wedding reception venues.  It looks like we have most likely made a decision and hopefully, we will even have a date set by the end of the week!  WOOHOO!  So happy to have that marked off my list!

Sunday evening was spent traveling for work and getting ready for my next few days of training...BOO!  At least I will be back home with my beau and my doggy by the middle of the week.  Here's to everyone having an excellent Tuesday!

Plenty to be THANKful For - Guilty Pleasures

Manic Mother

Welcome to Day 1 of the Plenty to be THANKful for blog challenge.  Today we are sharing all of our guilty pleasures...and boy do I have those!!!!!

1.  Frozen Yogurt!!!!! I'm stuck in one of the worst places EVER this week for training and this sweet treat is the only thing I have enjoyed about it!  (Yes, I am being a baby AND a drama queen...everyone is entitled every once in awhile, right?)
2.  The Biebs!  So sue me...I like his music and I MAY think that his movie is amazing, too!
3.  Lauren Conrad's novels -- Yes, I know they are written with high schoolers in mind, but I can't help but read ever page and wonder which of the true life characters she is "writing about" in each story...
I'm sure I have many, many other embarrassing loves in my life, but as you can probably tell from Item #1, my brain is fried for the night...I'll try to come up with something more riveting tomorrow night.

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

It's Wednesday...and that means that I'm loving:

1.  That I get to go see Wicked this Friday night with some of my favorite ladies from work!  I can't wait!!!!!  I've never seen this play, but have heard nothing but wonderful things about it!
2.  That this Saturday is the 3rd Annual Nashville Junior Chamber Cigars Under the Stars!  If you live in Nashville, and don't have plans on Saturday night, you DEFINITELY need to head out to this event!!!!!  It's always a great time!
3.  That this is the last 5 day workweek I have to work for 3 weeks!  Here's to training, vacation, and holidays!!!!!
4.  That plans for my friend, Andi's Baby Shower are well underway...no, it isn't until January, but when a couple of accountants are heading up the planning, then you tend to get stuff done early.  =)
Andi and me the last time I was in Knoville!
5.  Of course, I am loving these 2:
