Rehearsal Dinner–Part 1

Because our wonderful photogs showed up and snapped some pics at our Rehearsal Dinner, I decided to break this post into 2 parts.  I’ll save the best for the last, and only share my pics today.

Our rehearsal dinner was held at Events on 3rd downtown immediately after our rehearsal.  This event space is very new and in the center of Printers Alley.  We loved the fact that all of our out of town guests were able to see a neat piece of Nashville, in addition to celebrating a special day for Patrick and me.

Because my beau’s family is all from Cambodia and even though they all live in the US now, we wanted to serve something that catered to them and that we knew they would enjoy.  We decided to enlist the help of Soy Teriyaki Bistro in Brentwood for our catering.  They did a great job and served some really yummy food.

Here are some pics of the evening starting with me with my sister, aunt, and cousin…I think we all look so much alike in this pic!

Weekend Update!

This past weekend was so fun that I didn't even take a single, solitary picture!  That almost never, ever happens, but this weekend, it did!

Friday night, Patrick, Zoey and I packed up Holly the Honda and headed East on I-40 to Strawberry Plains.  We haven't been to visit my family since August, so I was really looking forward to some good ole fashioned family time.

Saturday morning, my mom cooked us a yummy breakfast, and then, my beau, mom, brother and I headed to see TN play Missouri.  Despite the ending, we had a great time and it was an excellent game!  I do feel so bad for the kids though...they deserve so much more than a losing team.  I hope UT gets things worked out soon as far as football goes!  Seeing as how I was a UT student during the days of National Championships and SEC Championships, it's really hard to see the stands only 2/3 full and to actually be able to HEAR the band playing Rocky Top over the screams of all the fans.

After the game, we spent the remainder of the evening cooking out and watching the Alabama/Texas A&M game.  Apparently, Saturday was a day of excellent football.

Sunday, we headed to church and then to lunch at Texas Roadhouse.  After packing up the car to head back to Nashville, we couldn't leave town without visiting the sweetest little 8 month old on the planet!  Yep, we visited Andi, Rob and Sweet Kennedy.  She's such a sweet girl and her and Zoey had a great time.  Actually, I'm not so sure Kennedy had a great time with Zoey, but Zoey definitely had a great time with Kennedy!  I don't think either of them knew what to think about the other one.  =)

It was a great weekend, but as always, it feels so good to be Home Sweet Home.

What did you do this weekend?

Weekend Update!

Happy Belated Halloween everyone!

Two Friday nights ago, Patrick and I attended the Laughter for the Children event to benefit Monroe Harding, Inc.  This is a great organization that benefits children who are in state custody and children in foster care.  We had a fun time and were able to score a night’s stay at Opryland Hotel during the silent auction.

On Saturday, we attended our annual Halloween Party hosted by our friends, Dobber and Nicole.  It was a great time and this year, my beau and I decided to go as Popeye and Olive Oyl.  We really enjoyed the costume and the best part of it is that I wasn’t uncomfortable all night and I didn’t feel so '”exposed.”  Here is a pic:

This weekend was a major yard sale extravaganza!  As you have already heard many times, Patrick and I had so much stuff we needed to get rid of.  Thank goodness we had the mother of all yard sales because we had an amazing profit of over $1,100.  It was such a good feeling to be rid of a lot of our old stuff to make room for the new…it also feels good to have a little extra cash in our pockets!

Another exciting thing I’ve been focusing my time on is running.  I ran in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure last weekend and this weekend, Anna Catherine and I ran in the Anything is Possible 5K at 1:50 in the morning…yes, that’s right…at 1:50 AM, we ran a race!  It was so fun and in the words of AC, there were some interesting people in attendance.  What’s also great about both of these races is that I ran them both without stopping!  I’m really proud of myself for how much my endurance has increased recently.  I’m currently training for the Women’s Half Marathon in St. Pete, FL in a couple of weeks and I’m really hoping to have a good time…we shall see how the remainder of my training goes…

That’s about all that’s going on with us…we are having a great time with the fall and looking very forward to the holidays coming up soon!  How was your weekend!
