Weekend Fun!

Hello lovely blog friends!  I hope your weekend was just as slendid as mine...here is a wrap-up...bullet point style.

  • I made my beau this yummy dinner:

  • I watched this movie:
I was actually pleasantly surprised...pretty funny!

I was pretty proud of my time...36:54!  I haven't ran a 5K under a 12 minute mile in quite sometime!
  • I had a delicious breakfast with my fun runner friends after the race!  We ate at 417 Union, which is one of my fav breakfast joints downtown!
  • I worked in our kitchen a little...we are ALMOST finished unpacking and consolidating and organizing that room of the house.
  • I also got to finally open this fun wedding gift:
  • I went to a lake cabin with some awesome girls for Stacy's bachelorette party where I wore this fun new dress:
I love you Target!
  • I worked a little.  =(
  • I relaxed with my beau and my Zeau.
  • I went to the Chinese buffet with Patrick...yes, it's ridiculously embarassing, but it's my blog, so I will admit what I want.  =)
All-in-all, it was a great weekend!  Can't wait until the next one...because it's a 3 DAY weekend!  Have a great Monday folks!

We're Famous!

Okay, so I realize "famous" is a bit of a stretch, but I'm still REEEAAALLLY excited to say that our wedding was featured on a bridal blog!  A Blogging Bride contacted our photographers and asked to feature our wedding, and yesterday Corinna posted some fabulous pictures of our special day!  Check it out here!

Knitting Novice

You've probably heard me mention before about being in a knitting club at work.  Well, this all started several months ago and I am definitely still in the learning stages.  I've been working on small projects and the group I'm in is currently making 5" X 5" squares that will eventually all be combined to make a blanket.  We will then donate the blanket to a cancer center or a dialysis clinic for patients to use while undergoing treatments.

Aside from making my squares for the blanket, I am proud to announce that I have competed one other project...I made a scarf.  It didn't turn out quite as beautiful as I expected, and there are definitely things I would do differently if I did it again.  However, I am so proud of myself for completing this project entirely on my own.  Take a look at a few pics of the finished project:

I absolutely love the colors!
In addition to the scarf above, I am also working on a couple of other projects...one is a knit hat in a really cool orange color (perfect for those cold UT football games) and the other is a dish cloth.  I don't have a picture of the hat, but I hope the dish cloth looks like this when I'm done:
Here are a few other projects I would love to do eventually...
These would be cute Christmas gifts or stocking stuffers this year!

I've always wanted fingerless gloves...how cool would it be if I made them?

I think Patrick would love this scarf!
Do you knit?  If so, what are some projects you have done in the past?  I'm definitely looking for new ideas, so feel free to offer any advice you might have!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Hello Blog World!  I hope you all are doing as well as can be expected on this hump day!  At least we are one day closer to the weekend, right?  Here is a list of just a few of the wonderful things I am loving today:

1.  Target!  As if I didn't already know it, it was confirmed this past Sunday:  Target is the greatest store ever!  I stopped in to pick up a few household items that Patrick and I were out of (think soap, vitamins, etc) and 2 hours and a lot of money later, I left with some serious loot!  I found work clothes, casual clothes, workout clothes and even these adorable shoes:
Seriously...how cute are these?
2.  Streetlight Republic!  These are only the greatest wedding photographers in the world!  You may have figured out by now that all of our wedding photos are in and I am so in love with everyone of them!  I can't wait to show them off to all of you, but first I have some housekeeping around the ole blog!
Love these guys!
3.  New Blog Design!  Speaking of housekeeping, this girl just secured q.a.design to create a fab new blog design in September!  I can't wait to work with her and get things looking more chic and cute around here.  Seriously?  This current blog design is sooooooo 2011!  =)

4.  Married Life!  Okay, corny alert here, but I just have to say that I love being married!  I love having someone to come home to every night, I love having someone to help with dinner responsiblities, I love having someone to watch TV with, and I love having someone there every morning when I get ready for work.  I honestly thought the whole living with someone aspect of marriage may be a bit of a transition for me (since I haven't had a roommate since my sister and I shared a bedroom for a very brief time when she was an infant), but it's just fabulous...
5.  And finally, I'm always loving my Beau and my Zeau!  So glad these fabulous creatures are part of my life!
How amazing does Patrick look in this picture?

And I think Zoey looks like a super dog here!
So, there you have it folks!  A small list of my loves today.  What are you loving?  Hope on over to This Kind of Love and fill us in!

Work Bridal Shower

In early June, my wonderful co-workers threw Patrick and me a shower during lunch one Friday.  The food was so delicious; my friend, Samantha's husband makes homemade BBQ and he actually smoked it outside in our parking lot that day.  Everyone else brought their favorite side dish to go with the pork and it was amazing! We also had a delicious cake...take a look!
Isn't it so pretty?
Next up was the gifts!  The gifts were unbelievable.  Patrick and I received more gifts than either of us imagined we would, and we are so fortunate and grateful for these people.
The gift table before we opened anything!

We are both clearly excited about this gift!

And who doesn't love dishtowels!

All of the people in my department went in together and got me a KitchenAid Mixer.  Ah-mazing!

All of the loot we got!  I told you it was amazing!
Can you believe all that stuff?  I still can't believe it!  Something else that was awesome was that my mom was able to make it to town for this shower!
Love this picture!
It was a great day and great that Patrick could be involved, too!

Weekend Update!

This weekend was all about the date night!  Not sure why and we didn't exactly intend for it to happen, but I'm happy to report that my beau and I spent LOTS of time together this weekend.  It made the weekend that much better!

Friday night, we decided to head out to the Wilson County Fair to indulge in all things fried, a few fair rides, and some excellent people watching!  My favorite fried item of the night was the spiral ribbon fries.  I don't usually think fair food is nearly as tasty as it looks, but this was definitely an exception...take a look at this yummy goodness and a couple of other pics from the night!
Does this not look amazing?  And, yes, it has cheese on top!
I love all the bright lights of the rides!

Gotta love the DIY photo!
Saturday morning, I was up fairly early to meet my friend, Brent for breakfast!  He was in town for a bachelor party, and he also turned the big 3-0 this weekend!  SO, his mom and step-dad (Elaine and Ken, who also happen to be good friends of mine) came into town for the day to celebrate with a nice breakfast at the Pancake Pantry.  Do you have any of those places in your town that you NEVER go to because it's sooooo crowded, but when someone comes to town and you go you ask yourself why you don't head out there more often?  Well, that was my experience at breakfast on Saturday.  It. was. yummy!  And great company, too!

That afternoon, I headed to the pool and caught up on some thank you notes (which, I'm proud to announce are DONE).  Then that evening, was Date Night Round 2 when Patrick and I headed to Baja Burrito for dinner and then to see The Campaign, which is soooooo funny!  Definitely check it out!

Sunday was spent relaxing, running to Target (where I spent WAYYY too much money, but got some really cool dresses and workout clothes), and having dinner with the Chapmans after Kirk and Patrick finished playing golf.  We went to Cheddar's, which is one of my favorites, and it was great hearing all about Kindergarten from Adriana, who was also one of the two cutest flower girls that ever existed!  =)

What did you do this weekend?  Hopefully, it was as relaxing and fun as mine!  Today starts the beginning of my training for my next half marathon.  Fingers crossed that everything goes well!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Hi Lovely Ladies!  I hope you all are having a wonderful week!  Here's what I'm loving on this beautiful Wednesday:

1.  The Weather!  The last few days have been so nice in Nashville.  Not too hot, not too muggy, not too humid!  If only it could remain this way for the rest of the month!
2.  Relaxing Weekends!  After MANY, MANY busy weekends, I think this weekend may be one with little to no plans!  We get to have brunch with my friends, Elaine, Ken, and Brent on Saturday (which I'm so excited about since we never get to see enough of each other), but so far, the rest of the weekend will be spent laying by the pool, reading, knitting, and pretty much doing whatever I want to do!
3.  Knitting!  I haven't been doing enough of this lately, but I decided to pick it back up this week, and I absolutely love it!  It's so relaxing, and so rewarding.  Thank goodness for my work knitting club!
4.  Wedding Pictures!  And, I got to see some of ours today!  Our photographer put some of our pics on their blog today, and gave us a tease of how wonderful they are!  I can't WAIT to see the full set of them!  In the meantime, here's another tease of another one:
5.  And, as always, My Beau and My Zo!  I'm always loving these 2 sweet creatures!
So what are you loving this week?  Head over to This Kind of Love and tell us!

What One Month of Marriage Has Taught Me!

So, I really can't believe it's been a whole month since Patrick and I became husband and wife.  I decided it might fun to document what I learn throughout our first year of marriage.  So, here's everything I learned in the first month:

1.  If a Mello Yellow Zero can, or a Sprite Zero can, or a bottle of water sits in the same place for 2-3 days, I need to pick it up and throw it away...it's probably mine!

2.  Dance parties while doing chores are way more fun with 2 people than when done alone.

3.  Living with someone and spending every night with him, is a way better feeling than I ever imagined it would be.

4.  Hard Knocks and East Bound and Down are 2 shows I never thought I'd watch...Hard Knocks is one I'm glad I was exposed to...East Bound and Down is...well, it's pretty terrible.

5.  When you're in your 30s when you get married, you have a lot of stuff...when your spouse is in his 30s when he gets married, he also has lots of stuff!

6.  Learn to give a little on the stuff...it will all fit eventually and until then, you can buy more storage bins.

7.  Date nights are still as fun (and as important) as they were a month ago.

8.  "To Do Lists" may be one of my favorite things, but my beau isn't a fan...therefore, keep the "To Do Lists" for only MY to dos.

9.  Sometimes it's more important to relax and watch TV than it is to mark things off said "To Do List"...that stuff will still be on that list tomorrow.

10.  Being married and having a permanent roommate is pretty cool.

I love you, Patrick, and I'm so glad I get to be your wife!  =)

Weekend Update!

How can it be Monday already?????  Weekends never last long enough, but I'm trying to start off this weekend with a great attitude!  Here's the skinny on my weekend.

Friday night, I had dinner with my friend, Laura to celebrate her new job!  Way to go, Laura!  Well, we also got together because we haven't caught up in forever...and 3 hours later, we finally decided we needed to leave the restaurant...It was great to catch up!

On Saturday morning, I was up super early to meet up with Sandy and her friend, Emily to run the East Nashville Tomato 5K.  This is the 2nd year in a row for me to run this race, and honestly, I kind of think it's really hard.  I didn't have a great race...at all!  And honestly, if I didn't feel bad that Sandy had hung back and ran it with us (when she can really run wayyyyy faster), I would have probably walked a lot more than I did.  Oh, well, I'm not proud, but my time was 39:35.  The good news...when I registered, they got me confused with a different person with the same name as me and my bib said I was 22.  I'll take a tough race if I get to be 10 years younger while running it.  =)

Saturday afternoon, my beau and I headed back to East Nashville with Sweet Zoey to attend the East Nashville Tomato Art Festival.  We had a good time, and the weather was perfect.  Here are a few pics from the afternoon.
Zoey was the lucky recipient of a nail trim at the mobile groomer's.

She also took a break to cool off in the pool!

Then she found her doggy twin...This dog looked JUST like Zoey...except about 20 pounds heavier.

You just never know what you might see in East Nashville!
That evening, Patrick and I headed to a wedding of some friends and then over to the reception afterwards, which was at Chases' house!
Me and my cute date before the wedding!

And, Patrick and me at the reception!

Patrick and Chase
Sunday was a day of sleeping late and moving more stuff into Patrick's house...ahem, I mean OUR house!  I don't think I'll ever get used to that!  That evening, Patrick and I met up with our amazing photographers, Streetlight Republic  to have some pictures made in our wedding get-up with Zoey.  I think the pics turned out well and I can't wait to see them all.  Here's a little sneak peek:
After pictures, I was starving!!!!!  Therefore, Patrick and I ended the weekend with a yummy dinner at Cinco de Mayo.  Perfect end to our Sunday.

What did you do this weekend?  Do tell...

#3 -- DONE!!!!!

Here I go again...marking something else off the ole 101 Things list and forgetting to blog about it...well, don't worry, you will read many posts about this life changing event!  #3 on the list was to Get Married!  And on July 14, 2012, I did just that!

I can't wait to feel everyone in on all the fun and promise to get started soon, instead of just talking about it!  For now, I must work on taxes...and I must combine 2 households!  Gee whiz, this girl is BUSY!

Hope to be back tomorrow starting in on all the fun!  Until then...here's another teaser from the photo booth!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I hope you all are having a wonderful week!  Mine has been good for the most part, but man oh man, not working for most of the month of July is finally catching up with me!  I am busy, busy, busy!  All that aside, here are a few things I am loving on this hot summer day:

1.  Dressing up in wedding dresses!  Yes, you read that right...I get to play dress up again this Sunday!  Since it rained ALL. DAY. LONG. on our wedding day, and since we have the greatest photogs ever, we get to meet them downtown this weekend for a few more pics...and the best part -- Sweet Zoey gets to participate this time!
2.  Sweet Zoey -- Speaking of Zoey, our sweet doggy is finally back with us in Nashville and we couldn't be happier about it...no, it wasn't great that she kinda pouted and acted depressed for a day or 2 when she came back, but she is finally back to her old self now!
3.  My Beau -- Yes, I'm loving my hubby this week a little more than usual.  Why you ask?  Well, because even though he and I are experiencing some of the pains of trying to combine 2 households, he has been a definite trooper.  Every time I turn around he's cleaning out another closet or another cabinet, and he has no idea how much I appreciate it!
4.  Gift Cards -- And man did we get a ton of them!  This weekend, I plan to head to all of our favorite stores and stock up on all of the remaining goodies from our registry and I can't wait!
5.  Reading -- One thing I had a lot of time to do on the honeymoon that I was surprised by is read.  I read one book completely and hope to finish another one this week.  I am not a fast reader at all, and I don't really ever get enough time to do it...however, sometimes there's just nothing like a good book.
What are you loving today?  Head over to This Kind of Love to fill us in!
